In His Arms Community Childcare teaches and practices the love of Christ through its service to families. Spiritual development is at the heart of the curriculum, both indoors and out. Our cognitive learning curriculum is utilized to honor Christ-centered learning. Our teacher provide daily worship, integration of Bible stories, and prayer in all aspects of the day.
Research suggests that the future success of a child's life is found in the quality of care in the first five years of a child's life. The quality of the environment and the accessibility of appropriate experiences at the right stages of development are crucial factors for brain development. Our classrooms focus on social emotional development, physical development, language, and the early stages of math and literacy skills in order to provide an environment that facilitates development of the whole child. Teachers use the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold assessment tools to track children in their development and build experiences based on the child's specific developmental needs.
12 months to 2 years
Our toddler room builds on the social emotional skills of relationship-building and attachment. The teachers start working intentionally on a child's ability to self-regulate, communicate feelings, and problem solve. The teachers focus on emerging literacy and math skills and create intentional learning opportunities through the world around them.
2 to 3 years
Social emotional development continues through our preschool classroom in order to further develop self-regulation skills and help them to be successful problem solvers. Teachers create learning opportunities to further literacy and math development. Theme based centers, art projects, fine and gross motor activities, circle time, small group instruction, and so much more help the teachers to build a passion and love for learning.
4 to 5 years
Our program offers children the opportunity to grow socially as well as cognitively. We have different experiences for every child from daily bible lessons to literacy training. We also offer early math and science education.
In this room, we use The Creative Curriculum for Preschool. It’s comprehensive, research-based, research-proven, and it features exploration and discovery as a way of learning. Teachers aid the children in project-based investigations and make every moment of the day meaningful, intentional, and engaging.
